Back in Business

An update from this post.

1. Met The Parents

Unsuccessful - Dad was out of town. So, what did he do? How about you meet Mom instead? Oh great!

She was nice, didn't talk much (but Lover already warned me months ago that she wasn't much of a talker). I'm pretty sure she liked me, but again, I don't care either way.

I'm suppose to be meeting Dad soon.

2. Weight Gain

Must have been retaining water. Got some iPhone Apps to help out. How about Calorie Tracker, Couch to 5K, and Weight Watcher. So Couch to 5K seems really cool, it gets potatoes off the couch and running 3.1 miles in 9 weeks. (Can you say new blog?) The down side? I have to be consistent, and by consistent - I mean every day! :(

3. Vacation

See Sedona and Starbucks!

4. Reunited

I don't know what I was thinking before! Some people are just busy! So it was really nice to get with them again. Between my complaints of flakiness, I don't think I have mentioned how good of people these two are! And the age thing.. hmm... Well, I know SHE doesn't have a problem. But, I still think he does. Time will tell. I had greek food for the first time!

5. Job Hunt

I didn't get the job I applied for. I'm keeping my head high and I'll keep looking...

6. Back in Business

The first bartending gig of the new season went GREAT! I'm so glad to have made some money, I mean, I actually made some money!!!

First Gig

Oh my! I had absolutely nothing to be worried about! My first job went great! The people who provided the alcol didn't provide anything but alcohol and they only ordered the basic package from us. So, I made a lot of Vodka Tonics, Rum and Coke, etc...

It was the reception for an East India couple and I absolutely LOVED them! I am completely and utterly jealous of how beautiful the women are and how gorgeous they look in their gowns (I'm sure there is a technically correct term but I am unaware of what it is), their silk smooth hair and how comfortable they are showing their bellies, even if they are 10 pounds heavier than they should be.

The Bride's Father kept trying to get me to have a drink with him, which is a BIG BIG no no! lol... but I kept making his drink and at the end of the night he hooked us up with a bottle of wine. Which me and the roommate polished off last night (it was really, really good!!!) along with another bottle of cheap resling.

Butterflies are Ugly

So, I have my first job as a bartender tomorrow and I am nervous as hell! I have had butteflies in my stomach since yesterday afternoon... I haven't been behind a bar since June and (with the exception of the 4th of July) I haven't made any drinks, other than a Cape Code, since then either... So, I just spent the last 3 hours studying my drink recipes for drinks I can make on the alcohol provided...

I feel a little bit more confident that I will do okay.

So, it's a wedding and I really don't want to mess it up... There will only be one bar for this gig and 2 bartenders, myself and another girl. She knows what she is doing because she's been doing in for awhile and I talked to her yesterday and she seemed really sweet. I think she will be helpful.

I can only hope that no one throws me a drink that I have no idea how to make. If this happens my fall back is to say, "I've made this drink a few different way before, how do you like it made?" With my luck they're going to say, "Uh, it's rum and coke." lol...

I have a lot to do tomorrow:

Iron Uniform
Buy black shoes
Buy black socks
Costco
WalMart
Chiropractor
Tonya's
Gas Station (Ice for job)

Plus...

Cleaning and homework - OH! And I have to eat sometime in there!
