Top 3 Elections

I like elections that set a precedent. I like elections that I was around for. I like elections I can relate to.

3.
2000: George W Bush and Al Gore
The electoral vote failed in this election - majority didn't win.

2.
2008: Barack Obama and John McCain
The first black president in the USA - proving how far behind the rest of the World we are in the sense of equality. It took until 2008 for a black man to be president. /sigh

1. This election

This election will always be the most significant election. This election is always going to be the one that matters the most. This election means 2012. It means 2016. 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032. There is no limit. The most current election will always be the one that is going to change your life that will determine the course of society. It is the future and not the past.

Everyone has them; regardless of how many you have been alive for or how many you have been allowed to vote it. The importance of an election is completely subjective and while many agree on which is the most important their reasons might be very different. What are yours?
